Overview

A doula is a professionally trained birth companion.  She provides physical, emotional, and informational support to women and their partners during labor and birth. A doula offers assistance and advice on comfort

measures such as breathing, relaxation, massage and positioning.

Birth Design provides doula-services in Oregon, centered around the Eugene-Springfield area. Our services include:

• A free initial meeting to learn more about us.
• One pre-natal visit (more if needed) and one post-partum visit.
• Optional massage therapy by a licensed massage therapist for the prenatal and
  postpartum period

Please note that doulas specialize in non-medical skills and do not perform clinical tasks, such as vaginal exams or fetal heart rate monitoring. Doulas do not diagnose medical conditions, offer second opinions, or give medical advice. The doula’s goal is to help the woman have a positive and satisfying childbirth  experience.
